Average by normal standard.
But, if you want a really good version of the Sixth, the Davis is blown out of the water by Handley:
(a penny; I ask you!!)
or Haitink:
... and this ain't bad, either:

Roehre

Turns out it's a performance of Frank Bridge's wonderful orchestral work The Sea by the National Orchestra of Wales conducted by Martyn Brabbins.
I wonder if anyone has listened to it yet

Its a fabulous piece, and there is a tempting special offer on the subscription ATM...

Certainly up to Handley's Ulster recording on Chandos (don't know the recording of The Sea in Chandos Bridge orchestral works-series), and to Groves' one (Royal Liverpool) from 1976 on HMV/EMI. The public is hardly noticebale (apart from the applause). A pity of the not very succesful remastering of RVW 6 on that BBCMM CD.
[For those who don't know The Sea I need to stress: this a Bridge work from 1911 and therefore from before his turning to more continental harmonic and instrumental thinking. I'd like to say, a typical high romantic British tone poem in 4 mvts (ca.21 minutes) from the 1910s.]
