    Re Bernhard LANG's Monadologie XIII

I'm rather taken aback that neither AMacG nor Ivan Hewitt knew that Bruckner referred to his First Symphony The Saucy Maid - it's mentioned on every CD booklet of the Bruckner.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

Nor I. I think that his namesake, the late, great Ivor Cutler, would have approved.

It'll save Bbm having to listen to the programme!

Mind you, the 'result' for last Saturday isn't really complete is it? There were 2 'winners', one for each version; plus in that instance it was also useful to have the two 'middle of the road' runner's-up.

I have contacted them a couple of times, pointing out something they missed. In both occasions, they revised the pages immediately and I had a thank you messages. Also, some ‘winner’s could be off their list for some reasons.

I'm appalled by my superfluous apostrophe in my #413!

Think you should consider joining the Society for the Abolition of Apostrophes, Cali. I am life president. Membership: 1.

Our cousins the Germans seem to do fine without them. My own belief is that they are maintained only in order for pedants to express their superiority.

Beethoven'sche Musik, e.g. and they have other means to define a possessive.

I'm appalled by my habitual comma abuse. If texts, posts and emails were pay as you go, I might do something about it.
