Not unusual for Haitink: between the recording of the 2nd Serenade and the actual first release of the recording (concertgebouw, also on Philips) are eleven years.
It depends therefore on who now owns the copyrights for these recordings: VPO, Universal, Pentatone are candidates.

    Edit:
Other recordings which were made by Haitink/CGO and never released are Ravel L'Enfant et les sortilèges, and Berg's Altenberglieder and 3 orchestral pieces opus 6
If they were never released how do you know about them?

Friends of mine belonged to the Polygram (Philips-Decca-DGG) recording team who made the recordings.
I myself was guest at the Ravel rehearsals in Amsterdam.

I assume Haitink did not approve them for release ? Or perhaps he thought Alison had enough of his records ?

A brief clip of Cantelli in action

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE89IFhaWmQ - you can see how much he's learned from Sir Adrian Boult about conducting

            And Cantelli speaking ...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                What a shame there isn't a Cantelli/Philharmonia 2 and 4 .

Well I'm sure that it wasn't planned that way

                          What am I looking for?

Telepathy is not my strong suit, Barbs

                          I'll meet you half-way - what's the post number?

There is a thread - Cantelli at Oxfam . Halfway down this page. I hope it makes it clear I am fully aware what happened to Maestro Cantelli and therefore that his incomplete Brahms cycle was not planned that way !
