Is it not a tad inconsistent?

And, would you prefer that higher prices are paid by the customer, so the treasury has more money available to fund wars in places like Iraq and Afghanistan?

I only say this because I am struggling with a double standard that seems to permeate the Radio 3 Forum on this matter. Amazon seems to be roundly condemned by the same people that fill their boots with the bargains on offer

Have I got this wrong? What am I missing?
No you've got it right good point well made.....it sort of parallels the "do we listen to Heffer " argument that flared up on that thread or do you listen to Wagner etc.etc. Perhaps every time watery liberals like me buy something from Amazon we should donate a % of the purchase fee to Oxfam or a charity where we would like some of our taxes to be "spent"?

It's an Oprah Winfrey moment. Hug it out, people. Prayer circles, 'miracle moments' and other spiritual hooey are surely imminent.

Maybe we should just donate to charities anyway & keep buying from Amazon and not rise to the the double-standard chiding. Just another option, y'understand

            A very honest answer AG!

Sadly, there's no honest way around this, your charity ploy notwithstanding! Just boycott them and give your business to the independent traders. Or if you can't beat 'em - join 'em with dignity
