BUT
occasionally he can edge into self-parody with the classical mag cliches / shorthand, and colludes with some other doing the same.

Well, I've always enjoyed Andrew's presentation of the show. I've always felt that he's 'one of us' and has the same basic enthusiasm we have for music and recordings. As for the notorious Beethoven Violin Concerto review I've always felt that A M's biggest fault was in allowing Goodman's tosh in the first place. (Presuming he has authority to decide on this format).

Oh well if Andrew might be popping in, I thought that Roy Goodman's Beethoven Violin Concerto BaL was a breath of fresh air and I look forward to hearing more from him.

performance of any demanding work or cycle is always a "traversal". An appropriate noun for discussing a performance of Eine Alpensifonie or VW's 7th notwithstanding.

But the presenter is being permitted to have too much of his own personality in the grid. The words should be randomly chosen so that we depart from the old conventions of Andrew McGregor and enable a new Andrew McGregor to stand in its own right.

Ideally, nuts and bolts should be placed in the handle of the studio door and a speaking clock placed in the aspidistra.

The uncertainty should be just enough to change the patterns of his vocabulary. This will lead to interesting juxtapositions of chance with the arbitrary word selection in the grid itself.
