I think I've just made a mistake and ordered the Beethoven and Sibelius, but I think the coupling is going to turn out to be Oistrakh in the Sibelius - wihch I had on LP. I think there may be different versions out there. The Essential Classics version does mention Oistrakh.

However, Qobuz does appear to have the Sibelius with Francescatti - http://player.qobuz.com/#!/album/0886445016413

I should probably try to cancel the order for the CD if it's not the one I really want.

PS: I did cancel the order for the Essential Classics versions, but managed to find a used copy of the Royal Edition version for under a fiver, which would appear to have Francescatti and Bernstein with the NYPO in both concertos.

      Hi Dave,
Even if you have the Oistrakh Sibelius (the Ormandy version), Francescatti's Beethoven is well worth the usual modest price and Walter's accompaniment is excellent too.

Used copies of the Walton (in a 2CD set) available here:

I also have Francescatti's recording of Bernstein's Serenade, which was issued originally on an LP coupled with Copland's Organ Symphony (bought after I heard Power Biggs play that in Liverpool).

Certainly is - one of the CDs I must have played 100s of times over the years.

My haul of Fracescatti recordings, accumulated without any deliberate seeking of Zino. All good stuff I must say.
