Returning to the original subject of the thread - unlike the Uchida recording - my pleasure in the Pires is unalloyed . It just gets better each time I hear it . A classic of the future I think. I do hope they record some more .

I'd also be curious to hear how anyone has got on with Brautigam's new Mozart HIP concerto disc - 17 and 26 - on BIS.
I ordered the Brautigan a while ago, but it must be on back order.

I've ordered the Pires/Abbado KK449/453/467 partly on JFLL's enthusiastic endorsement - thanks for that. Thanks also to Barbirollians for the KK466/595 recommendation. I might investigate by streaming first because I have several excellent versions of both those works.

Just a reminder for admirers of Pires that she is playing Beethoven's Fourth with Daniel Harding and the Swedish RSO on Through the Night tonight at 12:30 a.m.

#49 JFLL - lovely, effortless and distinguished playing! Excellent support from Harding.

Another one - video of MJP from Arte of a gorgeous performance of Beethoven PC 2 from Feb '12 with fabulous partnership with Riccardo Chailly & Orchestre de Paris. And a sublime Bach encore. (Concerto starts about 7 mins in)
