    Sorry, it's co.jp

Find it on amazon.co.uk then edit the co.uk to co.jp in the URL.

Thanks, I'm there on the jp page for this, but I don't understand Japanese. I'm stuck. Can it be changed to English?

I changed the url and can get to the CD, but I can't understand anything on the Japanese site. I think it's asking me to create an account. Never mind, I'll survive without another M3!

The layout of Amazon order pages tend to be the same whichever country one is trying to order from. Try opening uk and jp in separate tabs and use the uk one as a template for the jp.

Or click on the JP button underneath the magnifying glass icon and select UK.

No, you have to create an account there, but you and use the same password you use on your 'home' Amazon site if you want.

Thanks Bryn. I managed to get the language changed to English, but I can't create an account because everything is fine, except when I need to enter a region, it only gives Japanese options. Everything else is straightforward.

Never mind, and thanks again for your help

I got stuck further on. Whichever offer I tried, including the one shown as both new and Prime, my delivery address was rejected. This despite the fact that I already had an account with amazon.co.jp.

                      .

... yes, I got stumped when required to enter my Prefecture, and was only offered a drop-down in Japanese characters.

If I feel strong tomorrow I might try again ...

If you want to buy stuff fairly easily from amazon.jp, there is the following proxy shopping service:

I (and Vinteuil) have used them to buy from Tower Records Japan

Thanks. Very interesting - had no idea things like this existed.

A fellow forum member has messaged me with a kind offer to solve my M3 Sinopoli deficiency, so the tool will be used for any future purchases.

What's the deal with VAT under this service?

Ah well, that depends on how it gets delivered. If you use Japan Post EMS (Express Airmail) - which various sites promote because of the supposed speed - it'll be delivered by Parcelforce in the UK and in France by Chronopost. Both process anything above the maximum duty-free ceiling by adding customs duties, VAT and a "handling fee" - and will hold the item until you've stumped up. My experience, which I have to admit is mostly in France, is that SAL (cheaper, still airmail and not exactly slow) is delivered by La Poste, who don't seem to bother with duty, VAT or other fees. Packages just arrive in my letter box (one, of Japanese kitchen knives, had a value in excess of €300,00 which I thought that I would never get away with but it arrived just like my monthly copy of 'Diapason'). From memory, I've once had to pay duty with the Royal Mail but have also just received packages straightforwardly with the other mail. So, it's a bit of a lottery, alas. And I'm being a bad person recommending potential ways of tax evasion.
