I thought it was good - very good - but here is a slightly disparaging review - http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011...kuijken-review The "competitor" quartets mentioned are the Takács and the Emersons, which I'm sure are both very good, but are they really very much better? Different perhaps. Seems like damning with faint praise to me.

      A weak review IMO. For anyone wanting the "complete" quintets, however: the Zurich; Fine Arts; Nash; or Endellion are good places to start.

        Been listening to the Endellions in Op 131 and 132 this morning. I find their use of vibrato more to my taste than that by the Belceas. Indeed, I tend more towards Mark Sealey's assessment of the Endellion set than the somewhat negative one expressed here by makropulos.

          Although with some reservations I have been well impressed. Also great recording quality.
