I've plumped for Pletnev and Kovacevich, justifying such lavishness since both were second-hand. Thanks for all your suggestions and input and I'll let you know how I get on with both.

There is a ghostly, atmospheric Accent recording of the Bagatelles Op.126 by Jos Van Immerseel on an 1824 Graf piano, which I personally love.

The Kovacevich bagatelles have arrived. Wonderful performances - spritely little gems!

Many thanks for all the various recommendations for this (and other) sets.

Hi Thropplenoggin — as a late follow-up: a couple weeks ago I did a short review of 6 recordings of op.126 in my Blog; neither Kovacevich nor Pletnev or van Immerseel are included (should look at Immerseel, too — just placed an order ...), but I'll also add in Mustonen any time soon (CD is on my desk).

Rkyburz - let me know what you think of the Immerseel, it is a recording I adore.
