Oh, NO! Grrr! "Then comes my fits again". In mitigation, I'll still get my hmv 'points'. Thanks, Barbirollians, only slightly surly undertones.

Just got round to listening to this - a terrific and thrilling performance but be warned - the acoustic is rather of the swimming pool variety and I had to turn the volume up a bit .

As a confirmed Testament website watcher I'd clocked this release some time ago but am still concerned at their pricing policy. For a 50 year old mono archive recording £10.99 still seems steep especially when you consider that this is full price and many brand new recordings are cheaper. They should knock a couple of quid off, maybe three and that's much better value in today's market place.
Egg wetter gree. Of the 2,500 plus CDs I have, only about 8 of them are Testament!

It's purely down to price. £6.50 is about right, and until that happens they won't be getting much of my money. It's 2012 and they need to get real.

Their prices are rather optimistic, I agree. I too have few Testament discs in a fairly large collection.

It's behaviourally interesting that some collectors (including both Beef Oven and me) are happy to spend their hard earned on CDs but become stingy when they sense a rip-off even though the absolute cost (£10.99) isn't much.

As I pointed out in my message 12, Testament are asking £10.99 for a 50 year old mono radio recording which, from comments on here doesn't seem to be in that good sound even bearing in mind its age, The lure of Barbirolli, the BPO and Brahms in such an iconic location would easily sway many, including me, but I wouldn't consider it to be worth more than £6.99 in today's market place.

Ah but Testament do spend quite a lot of money I suspect on licensing and restoration and MDT are selling them for under £9 at the moment.
