I too ordered from amazon.co.uk when they were quoting that very attractive price. I also read their terms and conditions. There is no contract to supply unless and until they make call funds form your credit or debit card, which they do not do until the time of dispatch. If the price quoted is 'clearly an error' they would also have a way out.

As I had suspected, it's not the 21 disc box, but a single disc (boxed, admittedly) of the complete Chopin songs from the Chopin Institute. I checked by typing the upc into Amazon's software and it does indeed come up with the so-called 21 disc set! I see that Amazon has revised the price of the 'other' Real Chopin box from £160 down to £71.99 and I suspect this is the real 'Real Chopin'... really (even though it's marked as a one disc set).

I've just cancelled my order, partly because of reading this, partly because of the incessant delays, and partly because I don't really need a multi-disc box-set which I'll almost certainlyl never get round to listening to!

Reminds me of a 1960's review in the Guardian in the days when Ted Greenfield and Neville Cardus phoned in their reviews from phone booths at the Festival Hall. Next morning the paper ran a review of Britten's Lazy Luminations. They also once had Beethoven's Erotica Symphony.

I've just got Davitt Moroney's attractive Hyperion CD of rarely heard harpsichord pieces by Marc Roger Normand Couperin and at bargain price from the Hyperion special offer website. Very nice!

Curiouser and curiouser. After receiving the single disc of Songs, I contacted Amazon about their product description. They have now (eventually) got back to me to say, no, their description is correct: 21 CDs, Real Chopin. And it's back at a silly price.

Ditto here. And on 'my orders' page, the status has changed to 'Dispatching soon', promising that 'this portion of your order cannot be cancelled or changed'...

                      Even by Amazon?!

Likewise, though I had not noticed that aspect until you mentioned it. I must check to see if they have debited the price from my credit card yet. That would definitly complete firm up the contract.

Hmm, no sign of a debit as yet, but the tally is a couple of days behind anyway.

Latest comment in relation to the sole review (1 star) on the amazon.co.uk page for the Real Chopin 21 CD boxed set:

                                R. K. Powell says:
I ordered this box set on 28 Dec for £9.97 (!), realising that it was a pricing error. Somewhat to my amazement, the full 21CD set arrived today. At 47p per disc, this is one of my best bargains ever.
