Choose a recording for the previous poster

This is a bit of fun, and my first thread on here.

Choose a recording that you've enjoyed, and you think the previous poster might like too

Oh, how easy is this one??

      R. Strauss, Eine Alpensinfonie, H.Von K, Berlin Philharmonic.

          Mahler Symphony 2

BPO under Mr Pee's beloved Sir Simon

          released 7 February 2011

I suspect this will be pretty good.

That was a brilliant guess. I don't know how you managed it. However, the Karajan version isn't my favourite, in view of the poor early-digital DGG recording.

For Alison it has to be:

              Mahler 2 - The 1989 (?) live LPO/Tennstedt

                  John.

Thank you. Thats what I call a special occasion recording. I'll spin on Christmas eve afternoon I think.
Send me your address on a private message and I will send you that CD I never got round to sending before.

                  Dan

Thank you. I have that disc which remains unplayed ! Yours is the Zinman Mahler 9 to nearly complete your
                  full cycle.

This is confusing. Which Mr P is this for? I think you need to include a quote to make things clear.

I'm not a great fan of Mahler (take it or leave it) and certainly not of Sir Simon.

Mine for madamesuggia turned out to be a good choice. I was inspired by her avatar.

Probably not ungrateful - I suspect the choice was for the West Sussex Mr P. OK about the rest.
