Good luck indeed. I was speculating when I was in hospital a few weeks ago whether you would get wine with your meals in France as they were concerned that I was anaemic after loosing blood in my operation. I did ask for steak frites and a fine bottle of Languedoc but they didn't seem keen to oblige !
Good luck with it all and hope your recovery is in time for the wonderful market in Pezenas

It was the iPod Nano that 'won'. Even as a non-techy, I found it so incredibly easy to use. In hardly any time at all, I had built up a veritable library of healing/soothing/relaxing music - and you get FM radio as well! So France Musique and Radio Classique soon found their way into my radio preset favourites. The only downside for me, was that due to the fact that I was having chemo, even the very effort of listening to music was at times more than I could muster, but I will be more prepared for the next session. So thanks to all for your good and kind advice.

And - amateur51 - you describe yourself as a technopeasant (great term, that!) I can recommend my choice, based on other posters' knowledge of such matters. Once you've downloaded iTunes - which is in itself a piece of cake, the rest is simple; on-screen instructions tell you what to do as you go along. If I can master it, anyone can!

And from everyone here, I'm sure. Nasty - but stick with it!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
