    Culshaw's record player still lives:

Has anyone read his (now long out of print) novels - A Place Of Stone (which, PTRS tells us, was going to be called A Harder Place until his author was advised that title would only inspire ribald laughter) and The Sons Of Brutus?

I've. An American company was keen to film "A Place of Stone" but couldn't raise the finance, rather to JC's chagrin as that money would have set him up for life. However, he didn't do too badly even without that windfall.

I don't think he ever became wealthy, as he spent most of his life as a salaried employee of large organisations, one in the private sector, the other in the public sector. Staff producers were not well-paid, as George Martin has confirmed.
