    Expensive Schumann !!!

Caught up with the orchestral music review on Saturday's programme, and thought that the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen's way with the two Schumann symphonies conducted by Paavo Jarvi was very impressive. Their clean, lithe performance seemed to me much better suited to this music than to the Beethoven symphonies which were too 'trim' for my ears.

But the cost on amazon is insane...

    Europadisc is saying £12.50.

I've never seen such a disparity between amazon's prices and others'...

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Oafish one, just look further down the same Amazon page. Amazon's affiliated sellers are selling it from £9.91, which makes the Amazon price look even more ridiculous

                Quite!

I'll have you know I'm 6 ft 4 in my stockinged feet!

Ammy - my mistake, I thought you meant elsewhere than on amazon (hadn't spotted those marketplace cheapies though.... which make the main price doubly ridiculous... )

Just saw this and see that we have made the same point using the same word...

Yes, and Amazon's price will mysteriously drop (as it does quite often) with no apparent reason, I dare say: I have noticed this happen quite a few times.

I have also noticed that there 'unwritten' price guarantee (whereby if you bought an item and the price dropped within 30 days or your purchase and you alerted them to this fact -and, yes, it was always on your own recognisance - they would refund you the difference) has now ceased. They never publicised this but it was known to devout Amazonians and I thought it was a credit to them. It would seem, alas, it is no more.

The only 'guarantee on price' being the pre-purchase price being honoured if an item rises between pre-publication and availability. Shame, that.

HMV often have the best prices and despite the name, Blah too.
I've bought from the latter firm many times without problems but they don't seem to carry the same range as formerly.
