For me Jochum's Philips recordings with the Concertgebouw orchestra [of which he was co-principal conductor next to Haitink 1961-1964 ] and then especially his 1963 Mahler Lied von der Erde (Harriman/Haefliger) and the Beethoven cycle, are still cherished possessions, as are his Bavarian RSO/Berlin Phil 1st Bruckner cycle .

I still have got my LP as well (and on CD too), and this performance is to the present day my preferred one.

His Schubert 9 is very fine - available on DG Originals for a song.

What a lovely Icon box his Beethoven and Brahms symphonies would make !

This one was even released on the Polydor/DGG classical budget label Heliodor early 1970s, as LP as well as cassette tape.
I still have got the latter, a cherished and still very listenable one (with Weber's Freischütz overture as filler on the MC)

The complete LSO/Jochum LvB cycle is going on Amazon for very silly prices. I have the LSO 9th. Hopefully, one day the LSO/Jochum and Munich PO/Kempe cycles will see reissue.

I thought for a minute you meant cheap in your use of the word "silly", but a quick check revealed my mistake. On the other hand there are good affordable sets of Bruckner -

It would indeed be good if the Beethoven set could be reissued on CD or SACD, or perhaps we have to wait for some form of high quality download.

Aside from the well-known DG, Philips and EMI material, Tahra have put out some excellent early and off-air Jochum and Andromeda has started to release some live BRSO material. Of course HMV Japan will do you all sorts of interesting material with the SD, Deutsches SO, BRSO, VPO, Munich PO etc.

The Munich/Kempe Beethoven cycle has recently been issued on SACD, expensive though.

Jochum was also a fine accompanist, his Beethoven vn conc with Schneiderhan and Brahms pf concs with Gilels spring to mind.

There's a nice RCO recording of them doing the Grieg in at least two different Tahra releases and a live RCO Brahms PC2 (below)
