Excellent! That'll do very nicely. Thank you for taking the time to hunt it out.

Does anyone have any information on this disc?

      Thanks.

That's a lovely disc (I have it on LP). I don't think Jochum and the BSO quite hit it off - not that you can tell from the performances. A shame as his daughter was based there!

Does anyone know why Jochum's Missa Solemnis, which has received rave reviews on various classical music forums I've read, is so difficult to get hold of? I think the last version was released on Phillips, but it only seems to be available now second-hand.

            NEW JOCHUM EMI ICON

The inclusion of the magnificent Dresden Bruckner cycle will mean duplication for many - including me!

I'd be buying it solely for the Beethoven Symphonies - I notice the asking prices for the DG and Philips boxes of Beethoven Syms have high asking prices.
The Schubert 8 BSO mentioned above is available coupled with Beethoven 5 BavRSO, used under £2 on Amazon. Don't think the Mozart 41 has appeared on CD.

Quite so. Shame the LvB and Brahms aren't out separately. Stll - quite a relief that these excellent recordings will be available again!

The EMI ICON Jochum Box is available on Amazon at the pre order price of £ 38-80 , which is the lowest price I have seen it advertised at so far.

For twenty well-filled CDs that's a pretty good price, I'd say

Right. EMI have been playing quite fair with theirbig boxes. It's inevitable that collecters will have some of the content but won't mind the duplication if the price is OK.

Must list some of my Jochum in my Amazon "store"!

Indeed. I am mainly interested in the Beethoven and Bruckner symphony cycles, so the price is attractive enough to me to justify purchase.

I had a passing thought along those lines but I'm not sure how marketable my old Bruckner set in jewel cases and my doubles of the Brahms will raise. A relatively expensive way of acquiring the Beethoven set.
