I heard most of programme but Nigel Slater on TV made me miss the Shost 15 - must listen on iplayer if it was that good!

Oh, it was, Joe! I'd read what others had said about it on other Threads with just a little scepticism: surely it couldn't be that much better than his old LPO version? Well, not that much, but one of those instances when the tiniest nuances make a world of difference.

But remember, when you're "listening again" that it stops after the second movement: it's quite a jolt!

I find Slater very difficult to watch. That said, the one where he was cooking almost lasciviously for two strapping Scottish lads was hilarious

Did you see the epi when Nige sat watching as the British porridge champeen showed off his technique?

On sampling the result Nige pronuounced swoonily, looking up at the champ "You've changed my life" and I swear the unshaven bepaunched Scots gent crinkled in delight & blushed a little

Zen was a quality programme in every department and I still can't understand why it was cancelled.

The delightful Ms Murano () was just one of many good reasons to watch the show.

I couldn't understand cancellation of Zen either, according to the Guardian over the three episodes Zen averaged 5.7 million viewers, (around the same number as the first series of Wallander) but wiki says that the Controller of BBC1 decided there were too many male crime fighters on tv! To keep on topic, I greatly enjoyed this edition of cd review!

Actually I knew that - there was a hilarious review by AA Gill of one of his series which I've tried to find again, making the same point unerringly... but not being a subscriber, I can't get it from the Times website. Gill put his finger precisely on what gives me the creeps about him.
