Don't feel that the piano version of the Holberg Suite is a cheap penny-plain version of the string suite

Having just listened to the Steen-Nøkleberg recording on Spotify, I would concur. In fact, I am surprised that the piano version isn't better known given how effective it sounds.

Thanks very much for the link N B. I can very warmly recommend Muzsikas's CD "The Bartok Album" where they combine brilliantly with Alexander Balanescu and Marta Sebastyen in a wide-ranging exploration of Hungarian folk music, and of the personal tragedy of B's separation from those roots after he fled to the USA. Balansecu plays some of B's violin duos with Muszikas's violinist, classically trained before he went back to his folk roots. Also included are some of Bartok's own field recordings.
