We've all been there, BBM - autocorrect or slip of the finger on the mobile screen.

Not sure it would support a thread on its own, but as evidenced in the morning schedule threads, there are works which irritate us. I suppose its personal though - myself, I can't stand the choral arrangement of Nimrod - Vox Luminis. And other choral arrangements..... such as Barber's "Agnus Dei". Generally ill advised - although I like the Stokowski and other orchestral arrangements of Bach, etc.

If anyone wants something seriously offensive [to some] try South Park -
Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics [Explicit] South Park available from Amazon.

Amazon Prime members have it available to stream for no extra cost.

I’m sure that some of the Covid Zoom sessions helped people to have a sing and feel better about themselves but the products are not always the best listens. There are arrangements and transcriptions which Sound OK and likeable but like all things in music we get ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ and which of these is in the ears and heads of the listener! Good tunes/songs can be murdered and bad ones transformed.

This is the one for me:

The winter ones from his Folksongs of the Four Seasons are my favourite of RVW’s Christmas music, beautifully done by these performers
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Free Christmas downloads from Naxos. I went for and have enjoyed the Cantatas in single voice to a part renditions.

I'm very taken with a recent album Carol of the Bells by The Sixteen (Coro) - a pleasing mix of ancient and modern, including some pieces quite new to me by Cecilia McDowall, Joseph Phibbs, Alan Bullard and others. They include Holst's This have I done for my true love (which in my experience is a killer to sing) and make it sound quite effortless.
