Someone on an audiophile was asking about French Decca lps,circa 1977, that apparently are fetching extortionate prices on the resale market. I thought Decca manufactured their albums in the U.K. Does anyone have any insight here?

The only ones I recall were of Gregorian chant from Solesmes. They had a different look and feel: thick card sleeves etc. I assumed Decca had a French subsidiary as EMI did. Nowadays of course Decca is just another Universal label used to reissue Philips recordings now Universal no longer use the 'Philips' name (e.g. Alfred Brendel).Comment
