Not heard Pierrot before but loved it after just a few moments. Pat Kop is a colossally talented maverick – she’s never failed to thrill me with her 110% commitment in the concert hall. Here she lays down her violin and plays narrator – zany, wild, brilliant. The lavishly illustrated booklet is beautiful. Well pleased with the CD. Well reviewed in Times & Guardian …

Liking or not Schoenberg's mature music is so performance-dependent, especially with Pierrot Lunaire. Too many interpreters just get it wrong. Going by the wonderful Roswitha Trexler's rendition of Eisler's Palmström - or of the possibly better-known Zeittungschnitte for that matter, which I have from a long ago COTW`, I would think there is a close comparison in her approach and demeanour.
