      I was using the ArkivMusik data base, which used to be great but seems to be error prone. Anyway, they werent may favorite Bach recordings, but glad to see them still available

        Yes. In most of the original sheet music editions, the composer urges players not to play his rags too quickly. I'm no metronome freak, but it might have been helpful to know what tempo he had in mind.
