From the RLPO/Huddersfield Ch Soc era - My first recording of the Messiah was of similar weight and vintage - Boult on ACL!

Ah! Welcome back. I'm still waiting, trembling with fear that you may have exceeded my 103.

... o, there is some Elgar I quite like from time to time : Harmony Music no 1, Salut d'Amour, Chanson de Matin - and indeed In the South

That's exactly 23 more than I have. Nobody has ever given me an Elgar CD. Where did I go wrong?

Funny you should mention that, I'm listening to the Sargent/Huddersfield as I read your post, very old fashioned and English and wonderful.

              It's an enigma, isn't it?

Or maybe just 23 variations on a very original theme!

That's Miles better. (Why? You might ask.)

I’ve not checked every work but Can own up to three figures in Tchaik 4 5 & 6

Each or in total? I'd guess I've got around 30 of each but it's tricky counting them up in all the big boxes!

One piece of which I do have an inordinate number is Strauss' Don Juan. I'll see if I can count them up tomorrow.

How about the relatively low number of 5? That's the number of recordings I have of Feldman's 2nd String Quartet. However, when it comes to his Triadic Memories the count rises to 15.
