I had put off listening to it until today . I was a bit worried about frailty not sure why when her 1996 Bach sonatas were so secure .
I was bowled over by it . Unlike so many serene performances my favourite being Bean and Boult - there is a nervous anxiety in it that reminds one exactly when it was written . Outstanding performance and makes the piece sound far more interesting and important than I have ever heard it before.Last edited by Barbirollians; 20-07-21, 15:01.
