A much underrated composer imho. The sonatas are largely forgotten but individual movements occasionally make an appearance in the intermediate piano exam syllabus
Deceptively simple but usually requiring a great deal of control. Dussek was enormously influential in the development of the piano: the first composer to turn the piano sideways to the audience so they could see a profile of the performer, and the first composer to write indications for using the piano pedal.
