St Matthew Passion, Bach, in the Karl Richter Munchinger version. For years I have favoured John Eliot Gardiner's, but am really enjoying this, though I presume the very expressive Evangelist (Enrst Haefliger) might not be thought quite the thing today (I have been touched by it). Irmgard Seegfried too, and Fischer-Dieskau in the bass arias.

Listened this morning to the Netherlands Bach Society/Veldhoven SMP (as recommended by ardcarp in The Choir sub-forum) - superb, wonderful evangelist, beautifully paced and expressively sung by all concerned, very moving.

This afternoon I have just finished listening to a newly arrived CD of the Buxtehude Membra Jesu Nostri performed by Ensemble Correspondances/Daucé - beautifully sung and recorded, highly recommended.

Currently enjoying Gunar Letzbor's recording of Biber's 'Mystery' sonatas.
