My “Studio Premier” subscription has just been reduced from £19.99 to £12.99 per month.

Very happy with an unasked-for £84 per year saving.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Yes, most welcome - my own monthly sub reduced from 14.99 to 12.99....

Cheaper still (10.83) for anyone committing to a year...

However, there appears to be a problem taking up their offer of renewing an annual subscription now in order to get the pro-rata discount they mention. I await a reply from them in response to my enquiry on this issue.

          The message I got said:
Want to take advantage of our new pricing before your next renewal date? As of September 8, 2021, you will be able to take out a Studio Sublime subscription at the new price for an additional 12 months. A prorated discount on your current subscription will be applied to your cart.
so I guess we have to wait a few days.

same here, only in dollars. Wouldn't happen to have anything to do with Apple Music's new pricing policy, would it?

Strange, mine reads "Don't want to wait? You can take out a 12-month Studio Premier subscription today at the new price. A prorated discount on your current subscription will be applied to your cart."

I received an email purporting to come from QOBUZ today. It announced a new 2.5% additional charge relating to my payment method. However, it made no mention of why the charge was o be imposed, nor which payment methods might avoid it, though they did say that changing the payment method might, indeed, avoid its imposition. My guess is that I must have paid by Paypal, so I tried using their contact system to seek clarification. However, that contact system is not currently staffed. It seems I might get a response from them tomorrow. Since I pay annually, there would seem to be no immediate need to change my payment method but their communication in this instance is very poor indeed. I will follow up tomorrow if I manage to get some clarification from them.

I think I got the same or a similar email, which arrived in my junk inbox: it was summarily deleted along with others. I recall reference in the preview wording to ‘a very small extra charge’ which seemed amateurish and scam-like…

Do please let us know if you find out anything more.

Will do. I have now checked and my annual subscription, paid in March, was, indeed, via Paypal. I know that Paypal charges a significant fee to the vendor, so it does seem likely that that is the rationale for the new charge being introduced, soon. I tried to change the payment method for next year but there is no sign, as yet, of the change of method being recorded on my account information. I will check again tomorrow.

I have just reminded myself that I pay monthly via PayPal…

I have now received an apologetic response from QOBUZ. It is, indeed, Paypal payments that will, in future, be surcharged the 2.5%. It is thus recommended to change the payment method to either credit or debit card.

Damn it! I have tried to change my payment method but it would appear, without success. It still shows Paypal as my chosen method. To make matters worse, one cannot directly reply to their email. Instead, they direct one to a [...] icon which is supposedly to be found at the bottom right of the page. That [...[ icon is not currently available at the bottom of any of their pages. I know, from previous attempts at interaction, that they sometimes simply remove it without notice (though the previous lame excuse they have given for this, when eventually challenged, is that their system is too busy). It's a good thing that my next payment is not due until next March, by which time I may very likely decide to switch to Presto's service.

So, I’ve received this response from Qobuz:

Do the instructions assist with changing your means of payment ?

I’m going to give it a try.

They must have been very busy today, as a result of their inept communications…

Update: I just followed the instructions and was able to change to card payment without difficulty.

Great. I have now successfully changed mine, too, but I had to switch to private browsing to do so. Standard use of Firefox open browsing meant the QOBUZ system not connecting onward to my credit card account. Fortunately, a helpful QOBUZ advisor eventually suggested I try private browsing with either Firefox or Chrome. There again, the load on the QOBUZ servers may simply have eased. Whatever, the problem is now resolved.
