You get the Nimbus Adam Fischer symphonies, the Buchberger string quartets (pretty HIPP for 'modern' instruments), Bart van Oort for the (forte)piano works, the Esterhazy Ensemble's baryton trios (complete and very well played) etc. If quick, there's "Used:Very Good" set from Folkstone Oxfam via amazon.co.uk at a very good price.

I think I also have the earlier one - I should check. There are many CDs of baryton music!

With the wealth of boxes that have been bought over the last few years my biggest box now is the duplicates!

Alison - the CSO Solti box is winking at you for €114 at Amazon.de! I’m hovering but maybe too many duplicates!

Same here! I have a huge pile of duplicates, even duplicate boxes that have themselves been duplicated in bigger boxes (eg Kubelik Mahler box to Symphony Edition to Kubelik Complete)! Some (Bernstein CBS Mahler, DG Karajan, Decca Solti) have even gone from LP to CD issue to CD box to what should be their final incarnation in a big CD box!!!

What to do with them? Once retired, a year from now, I might try and make some money out of them on e-bay.

Which edition? The early one with the spurious Luke Passion, or one of the later ones with a DVDs of the Matthew and John Passions included?

After my good fortune with all those box sets in the summer I had to go out and by a bookcase to store them in! Alas, it sits behind the big white and tabby cat's rocking chair so access is limited to the rare occasions when she stirs. There may be some furniture shifting going on soon!

This is what you need. The now four-year old is requently to be seen, with its human, opposite Windsor Castle.

Why not? I have funded some of my purchases (including the aforementioned big Karajan box and Kubelik complete box) by selling duplicates on ebay. I even made a profit on the Karajan opera box and the Kubelik symphony box .

Ooh that is a good price. Very few duplicates in fact, never really be a Georg girl but I must be reaching that age where I’m changing my mind about things! All that Beethoven and Bruckner ....

I hate to mention that I paid as much as £76.41 (including p&p) when I bought it from amazon.es at the time of its release last year. Now that was a bargain.
