    Well, this thread should really go more under Talking About Music rather than Record Review, it seems. That aside, just by reading news accounts and noting short recent tenures, the most recent unsuccessful partnerships would seem to be:
    * Philadelphia Orchestra & Christoph Eschenbach (2003-2008)
    * Tonhalle Orchestra & Lionel Bringuier (2014-2018)
    * Opera North & Alexsandr Markovic (barely a year, around 2015 or so)
    * Orchestre de Paris & Daniel Harding (2016 to now, set to end next summer)
    * Santa Fe Opera & Frederic Chaslin (2010-2012)

    Per comment #15, I actually wouldn't celebrate FW-M getting Donald Rosenberg ousted from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. That's the equivalent of our current treasonous, imbelic, unindicted co-conspirator President attacking against journalists who dare to expose his and his family's corruption as "fake news". Rosenberg literally wrote the book on the Cleveland Orchestra, whatever one may think of his opinions of FW-M (who honestly is a pretty low-key interpreter, to put it one way).
