I had not noticed until recently that the Beethoven 3 in the Testament reissues was a later recording with Menges rather than the Boult account and in Prsdto’s recent Testament saleI bought it and the coupling of the 1&2 .
I had never heard his recording of Beethoven 1 and oh how right everything sounds . Indeed, I have been listening to 3 and 4 in the car all week and have just been utterly enchanted all over again .
