Brahms symphonies Barenboim DG - a rave review can you resist ?

Paavo Jarvi was pretty good, slower than I’d expected, neaer Barenboim than Chailly, not quite in the top class for me (but beautifully played by the BPO). But I’m not about to argue with anyone recommending Haitink, I have his Boston cycle.

I don’t have BH’s Brahms - I imagine it would be good .

Prompted by recent postings I finally replaced my analogue records of the Klemperer Brahms set. I had forgotten just how invigorating and thrilling they were . A mega bargain now in their box set with the best recording of Ein Deutsches Requiem !
