That Krauss Missa Solemnis, curiously was the first recording I`d heard which got me hooked on the work. I remember reviews being quite negative about it - someone described the sound as "sand-blasted" - but it`s an amazing performance indeed. And thought provoking to hear the multiple choral lines of "pacem...pacem..." (peace) in 1940 Austria...
