Any link to details of dates and venues, ah?

Sorry to spoil your punning, but it's surely neither 'plummet for' nor 'plumb for' but 'plump for'.

(Melnikov + Nikolayeva for me too, for what it's worth)

Whatever the pun or non pun, these are Shostakovich piano works I played years ago but haven't had the enthusiasm to ever return too.

I was also delighted to find that the wonderful set by Roger Woodward (which I owned on RCA LP as a teenager) belatedly came out on CD - also enthusiastically recommended https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dmitri-Shos.../dp/B003ZZ7IAW

They are some way ahead of the other two I own: Vladimir Ashkenazy and Keith Jarrett.

I never got on with Nikolaeva's way with these pieces (call me a heretic) and returned both to the shop....
Have listened to the Jarrett a lot recently … lovely music and good performance but only, of course, IMVVHO ….

There's also the Profil set, with Gilels (not many), Nicolayeva, Shosty himself, and more of Richter in these pieces than ever before. Dubious sound-wise, very often, as with all these Richter-based Profil sets.

Hmm, I wouldn't go quite that far. I really like it but it hasn't displaced Alexander Melnikov in my affections.

How many times did Nicolayeva record them? I only know of 2 CD sets (Hyperion and Melodiya) and a DVD. Presumably, there are others.

There are two Soviet recordings, listed here as 1962 and 1987, as well as the Hyperion set.
