I think the Études might be said to qualify as "other bits".

This session could have proved expensive for me, but fortunately I already had the Osborne. I have ordered the Cho, which was delightful. Perhaps, in the end, the Hough was just a little over-pedalled for me, and I checked the Harriet Smith Gramophone review, where the word 'arch' appeared, which is enough for me...it is that quality that puts me off him, all (that I have tried) except the Liszt concerto disc, where he is completely in his element, in live performances.

Is this the same as or different from the recordings released on Hyperion? I have those and am a fan.

Different - the SAGA recordings date from about twenty years earlier than the Hyperions.

These are rather earlier analogue recordings originally issued on LP between 1974 and 1981. The LPs I have are in a boxed set of German pressings, rather better than the standard UK Saga pressings. I too also have the Hyperion CDs which were recorded in 1990 and 1991.

Here's a starting point for the CD box. I think I had better back up mu set to hard disc, just in case.

The LP boxed set of 6 is even more like hen's teeth.

I’m rather a fan of both Hough and Osborne, was wondering about getting their respective recordings?

Me too, especially of SO's jazz-tinged phrasing in one of the BAL excerpts.

I didn't warm to the jazzed up Poissons D' Or at all.

                          Seong-Jun Cho's recording arrived yesterday.

I am immensely impressed by it . Extremely sensitive limpid, poetic and idiomatic playing . Both sets of Images are quite wonderful and heavens can he play quietly .Mouvement and Poissons d'Or in particular have a sensitivity missing from Osborne's recording extracts played on Record Review .

Immediately prompted to order his recent Chopin disc .

I notice from the France Musique website that Livia Rev has died aged 101.
