There is a cheap 13CD box of her recordings on the Documents label not long released . Following the discussion on the Martzy thread I bought it and like too many boxed sets it has remained unopened until this evening . CD1 contains a recording of the Tchaikovsky VC conducted by Rodzinski originally apparently on the Westminster label though later it made an appearance on HMV Concert Classics .
On just playing this what an extraordinary violinist she was . Relatively lean in tone but what purity - has anyone ever played so perfectly in tune all the time . Also what a musical non barnstorming performance this is . If the rest of the box comes close I can't wait .
