    Schumann songs complete on Hyperion

    Hi all

Has anyone splashed out on the Schumann songs box from Hyperion yet (as opposed to the individually-released CDs)?

The reason I ask is that I'd like to know if Johnson's voluminous booklet notes have been trimmed down in the manner Hyperion adopted when releasing the complete Schubert lieder (I hung on to my 'themed' individual CDs there as (a) I preferred the 'themed' layout and (b) the notes are a treasure trove).

    Cheers

Hyperion released the book with all the song texts of the Schubert Lieder separately as well. Perhaps they will release a similar book with the Schumann texts too?

I have the set, and texts plus translations are enclosed together with a chronology of Schumann's life and songs by Graham Johnson. As I haven't any of the original discs I cannot say whether the latter have been trimmed down.
