I have the Delme Quartet CD on Hyperion of the Verdi and Strauss Quartets, but I find the sound rather thin and would like to find an alternative pairing. There doesn't seem to be much choice, has anybody a recommendation, particularly for the Strauss?

The Puccini is the short piece Crisantemi ("Chrysanthemums") which used to be played remarkably regularly on Aubade, the 1980s equivalent of Breakfast. There's also an arrangement for String Orchestra. I don't know the Puccini Minuets also featured on this CD.Numquam Satis!
