I agree about Campoli. Underrated, I think , partly because of snobbery, he having started his career in light music. His discs of Handel sonatas with George Malcolm are superb.
Returning to Heifetz, I've never been an outright fan , but I do admire some of the things he did, such as the Elgar and Walton concertos, and his late series of chamber music with Piatigorsky and Primrose, though there I think they should take much of the credit.
