Regarding the Gergiev, you're rationale is good there too. The live performances were orgasmic! 6 was one of the best gigs I ever attended, but the CD is a let-down (albeit an excellent let-down!).
I'm winging my way towards the Berlioz! I'm telling myself it's too much of a bargain to miss (after you and Bryn tell me the same!).

But I have full cycles by Ole Schmidt, LSO; Blomstsedt San Fran & Danish NSO; Michael Schønwandt, Danish NSO; Berglund, Royal Danish Orchestra. Plus various single discs by Karajan, Dudamel, Rattle and Myung-Whun Chung. What point the Davis, then?

Thanks matias for drawing attention to these great value downloads. Interesting that when I came to sign in I discovered I already had an account - I think it was in connection with purchases from other sites - can’t remember but I think it was Sainsbury or HMV and one other but my purchases included the Kondrashin Shostakovich Symphonies.
I can't locate all my Berlioz CDs anyway and I'm trying to go completely electronic, so it makes sense.

Sergio Fiorentino Edition. Loving these late recordings from a sometimes under-appreciated master, eg Franck, Schumann Fantasie, Chopin Sonata.
