Mendelssohn oratorio 'Elijah' Highlights / Recommendations

I am new to Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah and would like opinions on what are the main highlight(s) of the work. Is there a stand out aria or chorus? What are the best recommendations for a recording? I have heard excellent reports of the Bryn Terfel version.
