Perhaps they are only competitive for books. Must admit I've not used them for CDs so have not checked their prices.

I would be surprised if they were very competitive on CDs, given that Hive is run by a major book wholesaler. Books are by far the largest part of their business.
Might be worth looking at for vinyl,if you are in the market for that sort of thing.

More often than not I buy from englishpostbox via Amazon.

Same service, speed and notifications, and invariably a few quid cheaper.

Sometimes items sold by Selections (could be bird seed, CDs, DVDs, garden tools etc.) appear on Amazon. I tend to buy multiple items direct from Selections, but it's worth checking with Amazon as it's possible to optimise the postage charges depending on what's ordered, and sometime buying through Amazon is cheaper as Selections has a higher minimum postage price.

I've got £55 worth of Amazon vouchers to spend and badly want the Pierre Monteux Decca box but it's at a ludicrous price on Amazon UK. The best price I can find is on Amazon Italy at £41.69 (£93 on Am UK).

I've tried ordering on Amazon Italy but can't find a box to tick for accepting vouchers. Can you use them on anything other than Am UK? Or does it automatically apply them when you confirm order?

No, I applied my vouchers to my account when I had them.

Looks like I've answered my own question. The Gift Card T&C has this to say:

I ordered a book (Marketplace seller) on 3 Jan, estimated tracked arrival 7-8 Jan. That was later amended to 9-12 Jan (delayed but on way), but if it hadn't arrived by the 12th, return here and claim a refund. So on the 13th I returned and claimed a refund, with some misgivings as I could see it had arrived at the Bristol Mail Centre (2 miles up the road from me) on, I think, the 5th. My claim was granted within 5 minutes, and the refund was made the same day. Today, the book arrived (and is now marked 'Delivered'). So who is the loser?

If the loser is Royal Mail, that would be justice. I would prefer it to be Amazon**. I just hope it wasn't shared with the seller who despatched a perfect secondhand copy (£20) very promptly. Amazon assured me that I was due the refund whether the item was eventually delivered or not.

**Btw, my brother has started calling me 'amazon' because I don't pay any tax
