"Who knows where the time goes"

Fell into a wee trap that seems to catch me more and more these days

Saw a nice CD of Britten choral works.

Thought, "Oh yes, that's quite new and it got good reviews."

Looked at its details when I got it home AND IT'S THIRTY YEARS OLD!!! Half my age, and three quarters of my time as a record-buyer

Ah well, at least I was right about critical reception
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

    That's nothing.

I buy the (really interesting) disc, only to find I've already got it - and had it for years.

Oh yes, that happens too, esp. for me with Naxos CDs of slightly second-division British instrumental and chamber music!

Fortunately I can usually offload them to a nearby friend, before resorting to charity shops. He does the same for me

I thought this was going to be a reference to Sandy Denny. Hard to think it would have been nearly 38 years since she died.

Across the purple sky all the birds are leavingSandy Denny's home demo recording as she writes this amazing song, later recorded with Fairport Convention and...

...and yes large CD collections accompany ADS - Accidental Duplication Syndrome, not to be confused with what comes with big box purchases - Annoying Duplication Syndrome.

Sometimes I find I only bought my first copy a few months earlier...
