The charity shops here don't seem to have survived the lockdown/s! However, there are a couple of homes I pass on my daily walk who put out a box of free books for anyone to help themselves as well as deposit their own unwanted items. Used both of them for both purposes in the past year!

£20 or so, of which Two Doors Down accounted for half.

              Tell us more!
I have a Collins 20th Century plus release (In the beginning, and Music to celebrate the resurrection of Christ) and an EMI Classics CD (The circles of light, Concerto for orchestra, The sentinel of the rainbow, and The ring of eternity), and wonder if it's one of those, as there's not much else devoted just to his music. (I have his opera Caritas on a Collins CD too; must dig that out at some point!)

              That was a good trawl.

EMI Angel 7 49915 2. I have absolutely NO idea what to expect - that goes for the Pleyel as well!

But sometimes it’s what the heck, might be dreadful but the charity benefits and maybe another one will dreckly!

                    Precisely!
The first item that I've listened to from today's trawl is an absolutely delightful quartet by Pleyel.

Camborne - Cornwall Animal Hospital shop - CDs 20p each - not much of interest except I thought Telarc Jacques Loussier Satie CD well worth a try at that price.

                        Betheny Shop.

Janáček's violin sonata, Shostakovich, 19 Preludes Op.34 transcribed for violin and piano by Tsïganov and Prokofiev's Firdt violin sonata.

Kai Gleusteen, violin and Catherine Ordronneau, piano.

Very fine playing and a snip at 50p.

A mixture of luck and perseverance!

Of course there are many people who are ditching their cds in favour of downloading. Mind you, I once heard two charity shop volunteers say ‘Oh, it’s classical - no one wants that stuff. Let’s sell it cheap to get rid of it!’
