25p each. The BBCMM CD still sealed in its wrapper. The Petrushka is the 1947 revised version.

I'm not sure if it was on this forum (by Joseph?) or elsewhere that it was pointed out that one of the fillers on that BBC MM CD is incorrectly identified.
The Liszt piece (track 7) is Aux cyprès ..... number 1, not number 2.

Am I right in remembering that it was you who spotted a recording misbalance in their earlier DSCH PC2 release, which they subsequently reissued?

          Not guilty, on this occasion.

A week away in Devon was distinctly fruitful: best pickings in Honiton and Tiverton with small (50p) contributions from Taunton and Wellington.

              50p:
Janine Jansen's short vln & orch faves (RPO/Wordsworth/ Decca), including a Lark Ascending which I'm hoping was the one picked in BaL's RVW Top 5 recently
              Dvorak Stabat Mater (Kubelik/ DG)
Handel Ode for St Cecilia's Day (Pinnock/ Archiv)
JSB Solo violin conc's, no less than five (Ibragimova/ Arcangelo/ Hyperion)

              £1
Canteloube Songs of the Auvergne (Netania Davrath/ Vanguard Classics)
Marais Viol Music for the Sun King (Spectre de la Rose/ Naxos)

              £1.50
Prokofiev Violin Sonatas & 5 Melodies (Ibragimova/ Osborne/ Hyperion - still in its wrapping)

              £2
              Offenbach
              La Perichole (Cresin/ Vanzo/ Lombard/ Erato)

              £4
              Mozart
Concert Arias (Decca, various artists, 5CDs)

              £5
              Beethoven
Complete pf sonatas (Paul Lewis/ HM)
Bax Complete symphonies etc (BBCPO/ Handley/ Chandos)
              Handel Solomon (JEG/ Philips)

              £26.50 for 33 discs, can't be bad

PS Just had a look at Marketplace - could have got the lot there for £170-odd

That's a splendid haul, and I can quite understand why you went to the Bargains thread!
The Davrath are very special, and some of the others are top notch too.
What's with people in Cornwall getting rid of such treasures (or are they sadly from people who have died and their collections have simply been given to charity)?

Btw, the Bax set is on Chandos, not Hyperion. I remember thinking when it came out that it was unusual for Chandos to issue another set when they already had the Bryden Thomson set. I seem to recall that one of the symphonies was planned as a BBC MM CD but it was so good that it persuaded them (whoever 'they' were) to release it commercially (and I guess that the BBCPO had a contract with Chandos at the time).

It was the good people of Devon I have to thank for these gems - not sure Cloughie will permit me to post anything good about Devonians but never mind Oops, Chandos error duly corrected.

Oops from me: yes, you did mention Devon at the start of your post.
Time I went to Barnard Castle, obviously.

... and I haven't been to the county town yet! All of these bargains are going to help get us through the Olympics, Euros and the like and will also be of use when/if any of the coach holidays we've booked actually operate.

I walked past a couple of charity shops today where I've had decent hauls in the past.
Didn't have the nerve to go in though, I'm still a bit anxious about being in shops and such unnecessarily.
