Does Ebay count? A 1996 Hyperion recording of York Bowen piano music played by Stephen Hough. £3.99 including postage. Quite simply very good indeed. The mystery of what happened to the York Bowen Society of which Hough is or was patron remains unsolved. There’s a 1997 review of the CD by Deryk Barber on the Classical Net website. I would paste a link but I’m not sure how secure the CN site is.
There’s an identical CD on Ebay at £3 with a day to go, and looking at the seller’s other items, there are several CD’s that might interest Esteemed Fellow Forumites. All at £3. Are you allowed to make recommendations like that here? Don’t knowAnd the tune ends too soon for us all
