    All purchased no doubt, T-Nog?

    Got a big weekend planned?

PS: Ah! I take it back, seeing your message which crossed with mine.

Still, the Verulamians on the cover of that one look as if they are having fun...

The last charity shop purchase was a Chopin Liszt. Tamas Vasary. Not played it yet, 50p Red Cross Shop (Chopin Ballades 1-4, Liszt Annees de Pelerinage, 2eme)

You should see who he's got coming round for Christmas Day lunch this year. I'll give you a clue. Sandals, beard, the occasional miracle.

Have we scared off Nice Guy Caliban?

Or is he entertaining reclusive pianist Grigory Sokolov?

The words "milk and sugar, Maurizio?" or "pass the salt, Radu" are oft heard at Caliban Towers....

... no no, you didn't scare me off, just busily finishing work, b*ggering off home and settling in to the welcome weekend

Some specific information about Oxfam's 'Music Departments' here

in the context of their current campaign

Your unwanted items could give someone the support they need to create a future free from poverty.

A good time to unload unwanted CDs and Books as Gideon and HMG will apparently match the value of your items, until the end of March: see the separate thread I've started on Platform3.

I'm listening to a two cd set of works conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham between 1934 and 1947 that I bought in a charity shop for £2.00 yesterday. Very good playing with lots of character from the LPO.

My first chance to join this thread, so poor are the charity shops in Tunbridge Wells (for classical CDs that is), but I just bought the 2008 Sixteen recording of Messiah (with some lovely singing from Carolyn Sampson) for £3. All those hours spent trawling finally vindicated!
