You lucky so and so! No change here, it's still The Nolans, James Last and Bobby Crush in my local charity shops.

Catalogue d'Oiseaux Messiaen, Peter Hill, Regis, 3 CDs selotaped, 6.99. Almost expensive? Local Oxfam, who also had Beethoven Symphonies, Dresden cycle, Blomstedt: I hesitated on that one: will it still be there tomorrow? 5.99, I think.

One day, if I'm ever wealthy enough, I'm going to buy every copy of that bloody disc and dispose of them! I must have come across 100's of them on my travels. It's always the same - oh good - a Philips disc! On no! Not that AGAIN. My local PDSA has 4 of the so and sos! £2.00 a pop.

20p in the local shop of the charity we raised money for at our carol concert last night.
I spotted it in a very small pile of CDs that was on the counter as I handed over the collection pots.
Condition looks OK; I imagine (and hope) that the performances are too.
I've had that disc for many years: an excellent performance of both works.

Maybe also Nigel Kennedy's Four Seasons, plus the Three Tenors?

Oddly enough, a friend asked me to pick up Nig's Four Seasons cd whereupon I couldn't find one for love nor money!

Today in the fetid armpit of the East Midlands that is Mansfield, I picked up:

Bruno Walter - Mahler: The Great Symphonies

The box is a bit battered/cracked and there is no booklet (was there ever a booklet with this box?). One of the five discs (Symphony 5) looks like it might jump but for £2.49, I thought I'd risk it, especially as I don't own/have never heard Walter's stereo 9th.

So you like Mansfield then Conchis. In Falmouth last week I picked up a few at 3 for £1 including Ultima doubles of Boccherini CCs and Albinoni Concerti Op10.

It's a surprising place - a couple of years back I picked up an incredible haul at one of the shops (detailed above somehwere), yet it's the last place you'd expect to find rich pickings!

Btw: the suspect disc in the Mahler set turned out to be OK. So: a wise purchase!
