Should be both, of course. One just does not do the trick.

Looks like you might have to now in order to listen to them.

Today in York, I picked up the Varady-DFD Wesendonck Lieder, the recent top choice for BAL.- £1.75

They also had the Hickox recordingo of Walton's Troilus And Cressida (an opera I've never heard) but at £10.00 I thought it was a bit pricey, so left it there.

Not that much of a trawl, just one tiddler, Purcell: Complete Fantasies for Viols (Phantasm). A princely £1 in charity shop (not the Cancer one) at Greenford Broadway.

A local charity shop - one CD 60p, two for a pound. I could have bought £5 worth or more, but as I'm trying not to get a lot more stuff and be restrained I settled for Glenn Gould Bach English Suites, a copyof highlights from Candide (Bernstein), Robert Fayrfax masses - Cardinall's Musick (ASV Gaudeamus) and the sound track for Carousel - which will be a present for someone who likes that sort of thing.

Ah - Brendel 2fers. I played one yesterday - a charity shop trawl from some while back. As I opened up the case I remembered ... but I played
it anyway. Originally I'd expected to get some Beethoven sonatas - and probably wanted to play the Tempest sonata, but when I opened up the case
I found I was looking at a CD of Acker Bilk. I was reminded of this yesterday when I almost had the same experience again - but this time I played
the jazz CD. The other one really is by Brendel - and the twofer was only £1 anyway, so no real problem.

Bartok: The miraculous mandarin (complete) and Music for SPC
                              Detroit Symphony/Dorati

20p in the local shop of the charity we raised money for at our carol concert last night.
I spotted it in a very small pile of CDs that was on the counter as I handed over the collection pots.
Condition looks OK; I imagine (and hope) that the performances are too.

Looks a great bargain to me, maybe even the Charity Trawl low price of the year unless some other quality bargain hunter can better it!
